Where can I register to take part in the Chabrière Derby?
Online sports registration for the Derby de Chabrière will open on Sunday November 24 at 6 pm! The registration link will appear on this page.
It will also be possible to register on site during the festival from January 17 to 18, 2025.
What documents do I need to enter the Derby?
To take part in the Derby, you will need to provide :
- A medical certificate less than 3 years old stating that you are not contraindicated in skiing/snowboarding/monoskiing/telemark skiing.
- For Vars resort instructors, presentation of an ESF certificate is sufficient.
I am a ski instructor on the Vars resort. Do I still need to provide a medical certificate?
No, for resort instructors (only) a certificate of employment from the ESF is sufficient.
What level do I need to be to sign up at the derby?
To enter the Derby, you need to be able to ski down a french red track without difficulty (level 3° étoile).
What are the prices and the number of places available for this competition?
100 tickets are available for the Chabrière Derby
Ticket prices:
- If you already have a ticket : 2€
- If you wish to purchase a package : 22€
Is there a minimum age to take part in the derby?
The Derby de Chabrière is open to everyone age 12 and over.
We remind you that for all under-age athletes, a parental authorization must be provided at the time of registration.
Can I ski during the day with the lift pass included in my registration?
No, the ski pass included in the derby registration only allows access to the derby start. This is a special pass reserved for the competition only.
For those wishing to ski all day on Saturday, we advise them to register without the ski pass and buy a day pass directly at the resort ticket office.
In the event of bad weather, is a postponement solution planned?

Where and what time is the derby briefing?
The briefing will take place on Saturday January 18th at 4pm at the foot of the “Télémix” on the Vars les Claux snow front.
Where and how can I get my derby number?
Bib numbers can be collected from the festival reception during check-in:

A deposit of 20€ per race number is required, payable in cash or by credit card.
Bib numbers are compulsory to take part in the competition. Any participant arriving at the start of the race without a race number will be automatically disqualified.
Is a deposit required to collect my race number?
Yes, a deposit of 20€ per race number will be required. It is payable in cash or by cheque (CB forbidden).
Please note that you must wear your race number to take part in the competition.
Any participant not wearing a number will be refused access to the competition.
What time does the derby podium take place?
It will take place at 6:00 pm on Saturday, January 18, 2025, in front of the concert tent on the snow front.

Authorized equipment
You can take part in the contest using

We remind you that ski bindings must be equipped with ski stops (mandatory for skis, monoskis and telemark skis).
Prohibited equipment
Snowblades and mini-skis are forbidden on the Derby.
Mandatory protection
Wearing a helmet is mandatory to participate in the Derby
Wearing a dorsal protector is strongly recommended.
